Job Summary:The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and occupational performance within the school environment. The OT adapts and modifies the environment including assistive technology and training instructional staff to meet individual needs, supporting student independent function as much as possible. The OT monitors and reassesses the effect of occupational therapy interventions and determines need to continue, modify or discontinue services. The OT uses a variety of functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments, skilled observation, checklists, histories, and interviews, and should be familiar with sensory strategies to use within a school environment. The OT completes written reports, participates in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individual education plans and goals. The OT manages the inventory of therapeutic equipment and assessments. The OT adheres to federal and state legislation, regulation, and policies that affect occupational therapy practice.
*This position is a 3-day per week job, and will be primarily at Madison School (PreK-2nd Grade), but may be assigned to other District schools based on student needs.
$51,500 minimum annually with benefits. Actual compensation based on prior experience.
