BCG’s Great Lakes office system is a multi-hundred million dollar business consisting of three offices:  Chicago, Detroit, and Minneapolis.  The Great Lakes Finance Team provides system leadership with analysis and reporting to make informed strategic decisions on running, growing, and improving the business.  In addition, the team also provides exemplary finance decision support to several hundred staff in the Great Lakes region.
We also partner with colleagues across BCG’s worldwide operations and the firm’s corporate office.  As a result, members of the team receive significant exposure to the overall business and develop networks and working relationships across the organization.
The analyst will quickly take on significant responsibility and receive frequent exposure to senior customers, including client service partners and Great Lakes leadership.
This position will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of client cases, including:
  • Evaluating case economics, including project budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and variance analysis
  • Ensuring revenue is recognized in line with expectations and accounting standards
  • Overseeing adherence to BCG client contracting standards
  • Providing impactful client project management, support, reporting, and analysis
  • Tightly managing DSO through timely invoicing and collection of accounts receiveable 
The analyst will also assist with management reporting and analysis for Great Lakes leadership and client service partners, including:
  • Analyzing revenue trends and identifying key drivers
  • Reviewing utilization and deployment of consulting resources
  • Analyzing composition of client portfolio and mix
  • Evaluating economics of client relationships, pricing of services, and risk-sharing arrangements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or Math
  • 2-3 years of finance-related experience ideal
  • Prior experience in a professional services environment a plus

  • Managing and taking ownership for all financial aspects of case management
  • Completing and responding to ad hoc requests in a timely manner

  • Creating and evolving insightful, efficient reporting in response to business needs
