    TITLE: Recreation Facility Maintenance Leader (FLSA– Non-Exempt) R 2.19

    SUPERVISOR: Recreation Facility Maintenance Supervisor

    High School graduate.
    A minimum of one (1) year experience in related field of custodial, property and facility maintenance and repairs or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

    -Demonstrated knowledge and skill of custodial maintenance tasks required in a multi-use facility.
    -Knowledge of equipment and tools used in custodial activities; skill in making minor repairs and adjustments to facility equipment.
    -Demonstrate initiative, dependability, good judgment, tact and capability to work in a positive manner with general public, staff and Board of Commissioners.
    -Able to work and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
    -A valid driver's license.
    -Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

    Serves as Recreation Facility Maintenance Leader for the Community Recreation Center and Aquatic Center. Responsibilities include performing general facility maintenance and custodial duties. Ensures that all support and service is conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of Recreation and Parks and the Wheeling Park District.

    -The employee shall be considered to be on duty whenever a need exists for their services.
    -The hours for this position are scheduled as 5am-1pm Tuesday thru Saturday, however this position will require shift work to include weekday nights and weekend hours that will vary depending on the season and workload.
    -Attendance is required daily.

    Supervises Recreation Facility Maintenance when Recreation Facility Maintenance Manager is not on duty.
    -Performs general facility maintenance, to include painting. Performs preventative maintenance on scheduled and seasonal basis.
    -Responds to all emergencies and alarms when on duty, or otherwise in an on-call status.
    -Assists in the set-up/break-down of all general use areas, to include tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment and sound equipment.
    -Operates audio-visual and sound equipment as required. In the absence of the Recreation Facility Maintenance Manager, acts as the person in charge of all facility maintenance.
    -Ensures that sufficient custodial supplies and materials are always available.
    -Acts as hands-on, working custodial leader, to be involved in the daily performance of custodial tasks.
    -Custodial tasks include, but are not limited to cleaning floors (vinyl and carpet and wood), windows, lavatories, shower/locker facilities, windows; emptying trash; dusting furniture; and arranging for occasional contract cleaning services; e.g., draperies. In outdoor areas, emptying of trash receptacles, cleaning of water fountains and cleaning of outdoor furniture.
    -Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
    -Supports and exhibits the organizational values of respect, communication, integrity, innovation, recognition and appreciation, continuous learning, fun, empowerment and people.

    -Attends professional conferences and workshops.
    -Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.

    $17.00 - $24.00 an hour
