Job Summary:
Serve as an experienced animator, visual designer, and mentor, working independently to create and document all aspects of a game while also coaching junior artists to greater abilities. Senior Advanced Artists are expected to be well-versed in Adobe software and share this knowledge with junior artists. Senior Advanced Artists are expected to have expert abilities in character animation, motion graphics, drawing, rendering, graphic design, layout, color theory, and character design. Senior Advanced Artists may own projects outside of their studio.
Essential Job Functions:
• Create high quality art and animation.
• Work well in an iterative process with a cross-functional studio team.
• Continually sharpen artistic abilities through company training, independent learning, and learning from other team members.
• Continually sharpen software expertise through company training, independent learning, and learning from other team members.
• Demonstrate excellent file structure, organization, and documentation
• Display a high degree of professionalism at all times, accepting critique but also defending artistic choices when necessary.
• Mentor senior and junior artists within the studio as well as throughout game development.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
• Be prepared to assist with scheduling when necessary.
• Develop the ability to represent studio and/or Lead Artist when necessary.

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor of Arts in art/animation or equivalent work experience

Required Experience: 5-7 years of graphic art and/or animation production. Preferably, in a studio environment.
• Excellent drawing and rendering abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High Proficiency in Photoshop, Animate (Flash), After Effects, or equivalent software
• Proficient in MS Office
• Familiarity with Illustrator, 3D Studio Max, Unity, Spine, or other 3D platforms a plus.
• Ability to self-manage time with a reasonable degree of accountability and minimal instruction
• Experience with asset management, version control, and preparing art files for use by software Engineers.
